About Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai

Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Mumbai, established in 2014, is one of India's premier national law universities. It offers graduate, postgraduate and research degrees while remaining committed to academic excellence and social transformation.

Founded under Maharashtra Act, the University seeks to disseminate advanced legal knowledge and skills for advocacy, legal services, and law reforms, empowering students to drive social transformation.

Introduction and Rationale

Disputes are an inevitable part of professional and personal interactions. Due to increasing delays, costs, and adversarial outcomes in litigation, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms—particularly mediation—have become the preferred approach globally for resolving conflicts efficiently and harmoniously.

India's strong policy push for ADR, including the landmark Mediation Act 2023 highlights the urgent need for trained professionals. The M.A. in Mediation & Conflict Resolution for Executives is a two-year, practice-oriented programme equipping working professionals with skills to effectively function as mediators, negotiators, conflict resolution specialists, ADR counsel, policy professionals, and academics.

Exit Option: Participants who choose to exit the programme upon successful completion of one year (40 credits) shall be awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Mediation and Conflict Resolution.
